An Initiative of BioEnterprise

The Global Center for Health Innovation is an initiative of BioEnterprise, a healthcare accelerator that guides biomedical companies through formation, commercialization, talent attraction, acceleration and exit. As the only business accelerator in Northeast Ohio solely focused on healthcare, BioEnterprise deploys our wealth of expertise, deep industry connections and long track record of helping client companies achieve success to fulfill our central mission – growing the biomedical industry in our region.

In 2018, BioEnterprise assumed strategic leadership of the Global Center for Health Innovation with a mission to create a vibrant healthcare-focused innovation hub that connects startups, industry, healthcare institutions, investors and other stakeholders. BioEnterprise was founded in 2003 through a partnership of Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals and Case Western Reserve University, and now has an extensive network of partners that also includes The MetroHealth System, Cleveland State University, Ohio State University, BioMotiv, Bounce Innovation Hub, GLIDE Innovation Fund, Plug and Play, North Coast Angel Fund and many other organizations.

In addition to leading the Global Center, BioEnterprise also operates a healthcare-focused Executive-in-Residence program, the HIT in the CLE talent initiative to build a diverse pipeline of health IT talent, and the BioEnterprise Incubator, which provides affordable wet lab access to biopharma startups. Since 2002, BioEnterprise and its partners have created, recruited and accelerated more than 350 health IT, medical device, and biopharmaceutical companies, and have helped these companies raise more than $3 billion in new funding.
